  1. Hey Phill, just wondering if you saw that Stereophonics concert in a smaller venue than an arena? (U2 in arenas)..... I ask 'cause I have done GA for U2 on 3 tours & seen them in seats as well for those same shows (not good seats but not bad either) (I have done all tours since '83) and I can tell you there is a world of difference between when you are close up to the band, or in mid to far seats... I agree that this tour the atmosphere is more laid back, especially the 1st half of the show because of the order & choice of songs, re. type of songs on SOI etc...... maybe those points ha
  2. Max, is it streamed on HBO for weeks? HBO Canada schedule, should be same/similar for US: U2: Innocence + Experience Live In Paris U2's first HBO concert special, featuring the band on their latest Innocence and Experience tour. Length: 149 min Genre: Music Year: 2015 Schedule Tuesday Dec. 8 3:11AM ET / MT Friday Dec. 11 12:45PM ET / MT Saturday Dec. 12 12:50AM ET / MT Saturday Dec. 19 7:10AM ET / MT Thursday Dec. 24 8:55AM ET / MT
  3. Max, is it streamed on HBO for weeks? at the very least it will be available during December... At HBO Canada it is on 5-6 times in December (I'm in Montreal)... for some reason can't find the schedule for it on HBO US, but can for Canada... should be very similar as far as upcoming re-broadcasts.
  4. True..... personnaly I prefer more wide shots of the stage/screen/lighting/audience etc..... close ups are good but too many with the Director H. Hamish.... close ups on "tv" are not the same at all as in person/at concert.. I know 'cause I was GA for a couple of tours..... hope if this ends up being the dvd that they change the montage, give us more wide shots!! loll
  5. P.S. Thx Max for keeping this open... even though looks like I'm the only "One" in here lolll
  6. Oh yeah, picture quality is awesome... to be expected w an HD broadcast, I 'gotta add it is very clear compared to a non-Blueray dvd
  7. Ok looks like Max has kept this thread going for the HBO concert... soooo... coments coments?? Half way thru the show, my 1st one would be that Hamish does'nt like enough wide shots, like all his U2 dvd's... just saying ... I realise it's for tv purposes tonight especially.... just saying .. loll ... contest winners on stage now w Meerkat....
  8. 1st time I listen to a Europe pre-show music track, were all cities these tracks?? Interesting choices...
  9. looks like they could walk out of the screen into the balcony seats. .. current set-up looks like they decided to put stage width wise instead of length wise on arena floor, looks like could it have fit the usual length wise way.... just saying
  10. Any idea what 'soon' might be? Screen Shot 2015-11-23 at 17.26.17.png Lolll, good one Bigwave, I like your swag!!
  11. Huummm, not sure why all these conflicting rumours, Edge himself quoted as saying in the Irish Hotpress magazine at the beginning of Nov (I would put more weight on Hotpress music magazine than the daily newspaper the Independant,,, just saying.... as far as what Anton says, meh): In today's Hot Press we speak to Edge before the Irish shows and he confirms that work on Songs Of Experience is gathering apace. The Hot Press Newsdesk, 12 Nov 2015 + “We’re working away, here and there, as we go around,” Edge reveals. “We’re really determined to get it finished early in the New Year. That would
  12. Do you know what trolling means Shannon? I suggest you look it up.... if you or others take offence to what I wrote, then yes you are easily susceptible & overly sensitive and therefore deserve to feel offended if that's all it takes to get you to calling people "trollers" ... last thing, if I offended the whinners who were whinning about such an unimportant issue as to who "deserves" to get up on stage or not with the band, then so be it .... like I said the 1st time 4 days ago, get a grip!!
  13. oouh, a little susceptible are we Shannon… you call this trolling?! >> "I think it has to do with the U2 fan base getting really old, bunch of Grumpy Old Men & Ladies lollll << … I'm "walking in name calling & blindly blaming an entire group of people"?!… my oh my, we are a little sensitive, aren't we… for someone who says they are of mature age, that is somewhat surprising…. I could say you are now trolling me Anyhoot, don't want to argue w you, as we are both long time U2 fans that love the band, so let's leave it at that my Friend. p.s. - I was born the same y
  14. Agreed. Of course after the events in Paris the whole subject seems insignificant but it doesn't escape the fact that it was a completely unnecessary and silly idea - not sure who thought of it but it wasn't his / her finest hour! The main thing is that, hopefully, everyone who was heading to Paris made it back safely - regardless of whether I or anyone else thinks they should be there. Shannon, Mark, you saying what I wrote is trolling? If so, enlighten me as to why you would label my comments trolling? If not, ok, my bad.... I agree w you Mark about the supposed contest not being a goo
  15. Yeah, the bickering that went on over this whole thing does seem a bit petty now, in retrospect. However we may have felt about the idea of dividing fans and making them compete against one another for a once-in-a-lifetime shot of being immortalized on film with the band, recent events really re-emphasize just how incredibly lucky we are that they do this at all. Pulling a fan up on stage is risky even when we're NOT taking potential security issues into account. So many things could go wrong up there... The fan could freeze and spoil the momentum, could throw up all over the stage, could fall
  16. In all this discussion, we need to ask the most relevant questions to this situation.... Do you think the Boyz feel like playing the next night, or the second to next night, after this?? Where most of the carnage happened a few blocks away from the Bercy Arena? I don't think so..... these 4 men are too sensitive & reasonable to imagine they can heal part of this pain in this city at this time..... I'm sure they don't feel they are worthy or important enough to imagine they could help Parisians heal this the next day or the day after that. They know their limits with regards to something li
  17. Yardie, no disrepect, but get real.....yes the band played through tragedy before, but never the next day in the same city that just got some 150 souls grenaded & machine-gunned down the night (or even several nights) before.... besides the French Government will not allow it, plain & simple (no gatherings of people will be allowed, especially 20,000 in an arena, not matter how tight security would be).I accept that and alluded to that. I don't need to 'get real' with respect. No problem fellow U2'r God help us all in these times, especially the families of the victims.

  19. Definitely no shows tomorrow Saturday or Sunday, you can bet your house and a year's salary on it!! France has been declared in a state of emergency (pretty much equivalent to a War Measures Act), this is a huge tragedy!! Even U2 can't heal this gaping wound at this time, not now & not for several weeks!! God Bless our French cousins!!! ..... It's on to Ireland for the Boys.....
  20. Anyone find out who this person was + what was he doing on stage??.... Bono's son maybe?? Looks like his son, the one in the Song for Someone IE concert vid/screen...
