  1. Doesn't make sense--the GA are clearly only the c. $80 tix; the cheaper ones are high up behind the band, etc. (i.e., non-GA) That's that.
  2. For folks who have bought US tickets, have any of these NOT been CCE? (paperless). For example, it looks like NYC is not CCE for anything. Is this true? When you actually buy the tix, can you have them mailed to you, or are they CCE? And how about Chicago?
  3. Because it won't work. If you set up another account, you'll get zapped for having two sets of presale codes. Best option--get a friend to get their OWN account, then have them buy. BUT--watch out for if the tix are CCE (paperless)--if so, then the other person has to physically show up for the show.
  4. There was a lot of confusing stuff regarding CCE (paperless) restrictions yesterday. Some venues said CCE for reserved seats only, some said GA only, some said both. Today, Chicago says CCE for GA, but not (?) for reserved. Has anyone actually bought reserved (at Chicago or elsewhere) that are NOT CCE, for sure? Or GA that are not CCE?
  5. Rhi_K--if he uses his card, only his card can get whoever in. Basically, yes, he has to be there (in fact, the way the TM FAQs read, he has to actually take you in). Only if you're also on his credit card account can you get in w/his card (and if you were, presumably you'd have a card w/your own name on his account, in which case you should just use that).
  6. Absolutely, positively do NOT use the same credit card--that will expose you to serious risk of having both purchases cancelled. So yes, use one unique credit card (i.e., you and your partner's!) per presale code. Shouldn't be a problem for you and your partner, I'd think--?
  7. Right. And the reason this needs to be crystal-clear is obvious: whatever is CCE, you absolutely have to be there. Whatever isn't, you could trade or whatever. No way, for example, that I'd buy CCE tix for the UK, but I don't know for sure that I can go yet. But I hate to just let that opportunity pass now, months and months away from the show.
  8. As I mentioned in the new thread, it's not at all clear what's up w/GA and paperless. Some venues say it's paperless, some don't. Bajagirl, you seem to be implying that GA is generally paperless. But, most venues are saying that reserved is paperless, only some mention GA. It's all inconsistent. Isn't this up to U2? If so, what is it??
  9. This is really confusing. Earlier, most (but not all) US dates (on TM) had info saying that only RESERVED seats would be credit card entry (i.e., nontransferable, etc.). Now, they're all over the place. San Diego still only mentions reserved seats as CCE, Phoenix appears to say both GA AND reserved are CCE, and LA (the Forum) only mentions GA as being CCE. WTF?? Mods, can you help with this morass? I'm not thrilled with the CCE thing anyway (although I understand the rationale), but surely it's up to the band whether GA, reserved, or both are CCE, not each individual venue? Can you help/clarify?
  10. I totally agree. To have basically less than a day to get ready for this, plus the incomplete info, is really aggravating. C'mon, man.
  11. Found the TM FAQ that talks about ticket limits. The issue (in another thread) that folks (including me) have been worrying about is variations on a theme: For example, my wife and I have separate u2.com memberships, will use separate credit cards, but have the same address. Some folks have worried that in such situations TM may cancel the presale (or even other) orders. BUT: The full TM FAQ says "The venue or artist/event management will typically impose a ticket limit per customer, credit card and/or billing address in order to provide ticket access to as many fans as possible. " SO--this is basically UP TO U2, not TM. And it suggests that all U2 management needs to do is make clear to TM that, for example, they only want orders cancelled that are multiple orders from THE SAME CUSTOMER. End of problem, it seems to me. What do you think, mods??
  12. Actually, one more thing. When TM talks about the presale limits, they say "persons who exceed the ticket limit....". The policy is clearly designed to prevent individual people from exceeding the ticket limit. Well, if it's clearly two separate people, what's the issue? When they go on to talk about orders w/the same name, billing address, etc., that seems oriented around trying to catch individual people from exceeding the limit. And again, I'd suggest Bigwave talk to TM about this--it could save a lot of people a lot of trouble.
  13. Hi Andrew-- I hear you, and maybe it's the case. I just remember that this issue has come up every tour, and in the past it's never been a problem (for me & my wife)--and I'm talking the last three tours here. On the other hand, what you're saying does make me nervous, for sure. But, I'm going to do it anyway. My own sense it that what would really kill things is using the same credit card. In any case, we'll see what happens w/my experience, and I'll keep the boards posted here w/the outcome. Actually, I'm going to try to dig up whatever TM has written policy-wise on this as well. Mike PS--Bigwave, maybe the above info might help you if you end up talking w/TM about this. I'm absolutely positive that, at least in the situation I describe (different names, different credit cards, of course different u2.com memberships, but the same billing address) TM has never cancelled orders (at least in my experience). Believe me, I'd remember if it had!
  14. Wait a minute--I'm not buying some of this info. My wife and I (who obviously have the same billing address), but use different credit cards, have had no trouble both using our presale codes in the last 3 U2 tours. Based on this past experience, my guess is that in reality one is OK with the same address as long as the names and credit cards are different.
  15. On the whole two ticket limit thing, I must agree--this is a problem, for the reasons folks have given above. Some have tried to justify this saying "hey, these are (smaller) arenas", etc. But, as a few other folks pointed out, Elevation and Vertigo were arenas too (in the US, anyway), and the four ticket thing seemed to work out. Now, if they were playing way fewer dates overall, OK, maybe that would make sense. BUT--they're going to add at LEAST 10 more shows to this leg, maybe 20. And this is just one leg--so maybe 30-40 shows on this leg. And usually they have maybe three legs on each tour, so if so, the total number of shows would actually be comparable to past tours--where, again, the four-ticket limit worked out fine. And also, geez, since lots of folks (like me) are going to have to travel to see any shows, the two ticket limit is a huge bummer. Can't even go with your wife to the two shows! Let alone another friend or two, etc. Oh, and one other thing--I don't understand how folks are getting the idea that the GA tix are paperless as well. Looking at the TM data for the US dates, this only seems true for the Phoenix dates. All the others seem paperless only for the reserved seats.
  16. Actually, only the reserved seats (at least in the US) are paperless, NOT the GA (except, apparently, for Phoenix).
  17. exactly what i am saying in other threads, oscar!! and i dont think i am being selfish, cause we are the ones who were paying our subscriptions for years in a row, when no tour in sight! anyone could have done the same, so i am not sorry for those who didnt! i think if venues are smaller and tix will be harder to get, the more reason to allow us to buy 4! in europe we were always allowed 4 tix for ONE show, unlike americans who can use their presale code to buy 4 tix for up to 4 different shows!! i think that wasnt really fair either. this time around we cant even buy 4! Actually, americans couldn't do that. What we could do, though, is spread out our four across different shows (e.g., 2 for one show, 2 for another).
  18. In general, I'd say the VIP packages are not worth it. Apparently, they're available both with the presale code and (later) without it. On the other hand, I noticed somewhere (sorry, can't remember where offhand--in one of the TM descriptions for one of the US venues, I think) that you can (maybe) get 4 VIP tix, which could be one of the few ways to get tix for a group larger than 2. And on the other, other hand, even if they add a bunch of shows (which they will, especially at places like Chicago, NYC, London, etc.), I think they still may end up not doing as many shows on this tour vs. previous tours. Demand is likely to be huge, so there's that to think about--especially for getting tix for 3 or 4 folks together. And finally, the VIP packages may end up being the only way to get good reserved tix, given that the non-VIP good reserved tix are going to be snapped up like crazy.
  19. I don't see any UK shows at all showing up on the UK Ticketmaster. Not at London/O2, Glasgow, nothing. Will ANY UK presales be on TM??
  20. I'd love to know too. In the past, often Europe has sold at least some RZ shows "up front"; in the US, it was always through later auctions.
  21. I'd bet money those are placeholders for additional shows they expect to add in those locations. It's a certainty they will be adding significantly more shows, at least in some locations. And in the past, usually these added just "pop up" on TM as the announced shows sell out (on regular onsale days), with no opportunity to use presale codes.
  22. It looks like the Fan Bundles will work like they did in past tours--basically, a way to join "on the spot" through TM and get the 2 tix presale access then. Totally irrelevant if you're already a member (you can't have two memberships). BUT--if you look closely at the onsale times, note that Fan Bundles don't start until something like 3:00 PM Friday. I'd bet (this isn't clear yet, but it worked this way last time) that new members (e.g., if you sign up right now) will get presale access at 10:00 AM local time Friday--thus having better selection than joining through the Fan Bundle route. Now, I know that the time for the Fan Bundle for Toronto looks like it's the same time as the regular presale. I'd bet that's an error that will be corrected. Otherwise, it would make no sense to join the fanclub now (at least for those shows). On the VIP front, those are often quite expensive. It'd be a bit of a nail-biter, but I'd be tempted NOT to use the presale for those (but for regular tix instead), and then go for regular VIP onsale times if you want to do VIP. But that's just me. Also, let's all keep in mind that there WILL be significantly more shows added--in places like Chicago and NYC. Although, often those just "show up" on TM as the initial shows sell out, with no opportunity to use presale codes. On the other hand, if you're vigilant, you can just get tix for them on the spot anyway.
  23. The whole camping/waiting way in advance thing for GA may be (mostly) irrelevant for this tour. Look at the seating charts (e.g., for the United Center). There is no "inner circle" to try to get into, and the show in "in the round", so there's no clear "front" to the GA/Floor. Hard to figure/strategize, but it looks significantly less important to be there (really) early for GA.
