Seems it was waaaaay more mellow than last week.I got 2 GA's for Sun MSG myself, now I need Mon...The day of the week these shows fall isnt as ideal to most as the first bunch...Makes it easier to get tix....I bet the regular onsales go a lot smoother also.

Supporting Acts [MERGED]
smsully replied to irishmonk's topic in U2 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015 (archived, read only)
The National certainly aren't to big for the States...I'd rather the Editors, if War on Drugs is a no-go -
Congrats, I'll be trying Monday!..Wonder when they announce Philly date, along with DC on down to Miami.....If its not August, then stadiums only...Either that, or this is gonna be one helluva long tour, possibly into 2017
-
No doubt...After hitting that McDonalds Hard, (what a scene) I too walked a loooong way back to downtown...Great show though...I think that was Bono's Bday show for Vertigo...such a great city...I'd like to make it out on the stadium leg of this tour.

I used to travel to Chicago for work A LOT and stayed all over downtown..Embassy Suites on State was a solid go to. I'd definatley recommend it for the concert trip. there's nicer hote;s, but for the money, you cant be the free Happy Hour, and breakfast. the Happy Hour will definately come in handy before heading over to the United Center..hell I may see ya there!..cheers

Thanks bro..Boston and NY are a whole other animal.
-
Wow, thats great..Its Boston and NYC that really has me curious
-
The way the stage looks for this tour, GA's just fine for the $$$. I'd rather be able to see every show played in one city (ie 4 in Boston), from GA, then only 1 in the Red Zone for the same price....its nice to mix it up a lil at times from different areas inmo, assuming your hittin a lot of shows.
-
If you used your code, does it just disappear from your TOURS page?, is there any indication that its been used up anywhere, or do you have to find out when entering it with Ticketmaster?..And why then wouldn't Ticketmaster not have controls in check to immediate block exhausted codes upon re-entering. I ask only because they're so diligent in making sure tickets get cancelled, why not work a bit more on the front end?..They don't have the capability to update used codes in real-time?...huh? Really?..The whole thing is crazy to me. I'll be attempting to use mine this week, and I'm hoping the silver lining in striking out last week is that things run more smoothly Thursday...I'm not so sure.
-
Its a fair question, merely because of the technical glitches experienced in the first pre-sale. It SHOULD mean that your allowed to fulfil you max and Buy 1 more ticket. I'm sure your fine, its just nothing about this pre-sale is without a lil drama.
-
Its hard not to get fed up with all this minor minutia..Unless they find that some-one is "boting" out 25-50 or 100's of tickets...they should just chill. We shouldn't be worried about legally trying to secure an additional pair of tix for our favorite band....You don't have to be in the CIA to immediately determine the difference between a fan purchasing 2, 4 or 6 tickets under several in home memberships Vs robot dialing 100's of tickets all over the country. I've been holding my pass-code for the last week myself, and will blow a gasket if they cancel my 2 tickets Thursday...Oh yeah, thats if I can actually land something decent this time..Good luck out there, I'm hoping its a lot smoother than last week.

No, I disagree. The price point was too reaching. There's almost entire sections still unsold out west. For an indoor 1st leg, these sale, while still strong in the usual markets, didn't go as well as they hoped. Its the first time playing indoors in over 10 yrs. They put the strongest markets on sale today to test the waters. Had they priced it correctly, it would have sold out in a few hrs like in the past. Again, still good, but this is U2. Its the first time I can remember tickets of ANY kind still being available come midnight the day of the on sale. Stadium shows excluded of course.
-
Yes, it's definite. Edge (and maybe some other U2 folks) said so. Of course, I guess they could change their mind (until it's actually set up). I had read something a while back where promoters were planning Croke Park for 2016. I hope so because I'd be down for visiting Ireland in the summer again. I'm not gonna make any indoor shows in November next year.
-
Not sure about this. If a lot of the $300 seats are empty, why would they add more shows? I just can't see four more shows in NYC selling out (other than the cheap seats and GA's). Yeah, 4 inmo would be pushing it for this leg..But I expect Fri and Sat the 24th and 25th is a given....When they only have singles left, which basically is the case, they basically look at it as a sell -out. Fans want another shot at getting pairs of 2 and 4 seats together. We'll see

There is absolutely no doubt that more shows are coming to Boston,NYC and Chicago. Its not IF, its When. I REAALLLLLY hope that they will be conducting a pre-sale for unused codes..July 24th and 25th is screaming NYC. Anymore than an additional 2 shows may be pushing it for this leg inmo. If they wanna come back a year later for a stadium tour they gotta be careful and keep demand high. I'll also be surprised if they announce second level markets this leg...ie" Detroit, St Louis, Kansas city, etc, etc. Its a science squeezing what they can outta these tours.

Outrageous $312 for a seat
smsully replied to aune132's topic in U2 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015 (archived, read only)
I hope you're right. That would help me plug in the one MSG date I don't have a ticket for... ;-) It'll be simple.....Reality will set in with mgt once they see not every market is NYC,Boston and Chicago where $312's will be bought...I just pulled up some west coast venues and was able to look at the availlability via the seating map and there's LOADS of tickets......we're talkin POP Mart Tour //New Orleans style.....That show is infamous for them hiring some-one to walk the streets and hand out tickets for free the day of the show. -

You're clearly not looking at MSG. I don't think I saw a $300ish ticket all day, all gone. Yup, MSG as well as both Toronto shows. There was a chance I'd be in NYC when U2 are in town so I had a look, but won't pay $300. Same for my hometown shows in Toronto. TIckets still available now (almost three hours after the sale started), but only $300 seats. I just can't justify spending that kind of money, even for U2. I guarente you'll be able to buy $312.00 tix for 1/2 price off Stub Hub @ noon the day of these shows..maybe earlier ...Especially if you just want a single. -
Believe me, they wont stop until everyone that wants to pay for a ticket this tour gets their chance....Not to mention, this isn't going to be the only leg. A stadium leg in the spring/summer of 2016 with newer music is on tap...and then they'll likely close the whole thing out in Europe with a few Croke Park gigs ending it all in late summer 2016.
