  1. I really like it when bands play songs differently and get creative. My dislike is when bands simply play the cd version of every song. Why bother go to a concert in the first place?
  2. For me the surprise in all the conversations is not that we all have so many different favourites but that there is really only one song in U2's entire body of work that most people here would want in every set list.
  3. I'll play!! Set one: The Miracle of Joey Ramone Out of Control 11 O Clock Tick Tock This is where you can see me now Iris Crystal Ballroom Sleep Like a Baby Tonight Hawkmoon Volcano Love and Peace/Until the End of the World Set 2: Invisible Pride Kite/Hallelujah here she comes/ Drowning Man (Acoustic) Every Breaking Wave (Acoustic) So Cruel (Acoustic) Bad Even Better than the Real Thing Fez/being Born Bullet the Blue Sky With or Without You Encore Discotheque Electric Co One Where the Streets 40
  4. Am probably in the minority but of all U2's back catalogue that I haven't heard live 'Acrobat' isn't even in the top 20!
  5. I've seen every tour since Z00 TV but only the once each time. To suggest that diehards go to one night and then others the 2nd is very impractical as people just go for tickets they can get. I'm also wondering whether we have too high expectations about constant changes in setlists? Springsteen and Pearl Jam seem to be the exception rather than the standard when it comes to established artists touring. Elbow, Depeche Mode and Coldplay either play the same setlist every night or change only a couple of songs on some nights. It's not impractical. If it's a back to back show allow for the scheduling so you can go to the one you want. JAMES are exceptional at shaking up their setlists as well. So are National, FIXX, Naked and Famous and others.I saw 7 different JAMES shows in 2012 and each one was different. Some songs were the same but wow what variety for the rest. I still disagree because that isn't what happens in the real world. I half suspect that artists like James (who I like but haven't seen live) do not offer the kind of show with visuals that U2 give and therefore can mix up set lists without those sort of ties.

  7. I'm not convinced that there was any inability to prepare as they hired the venue in Canada for a month for that very purpose.
  8. Pretty much all the reviews of the tour are saying that U2 have pulled it off again and yet there is still a reasonable amount of disgruntle on this forum about set lists. I'm not wanting to revisit these themes but am wondering what songs do people feel should be / must be included in every concert and every tour? I'll start off by suggesting: Where the Streets have no name
  9. If we show our U2 membership badge/card do at the venue gigs do we get a discount?
  10. They haven't (as yet) played others from SOI such as: This is where you can reach me now (surely the best song on the album?) Troubles (seems to be cut from the set list - not sure why?) Volcano Sleep Like a Baby Tonight (one of the strongest songs on SOI)
  11. 40 So Cruel Fez/Being Born Stand Up Comedy Please God Part II Hawkmoon Mercy Gloria October Stay (full band) Ground Beneath her feet
  12. Short answer is no! Sorry but I find it bland and boring. I'm sure they'll play it LA for you though but am hoping they don't play it at the London shows I'm going to.
  13. Streets is the only song I feel that should be included in every setlist. Everything else could quite easily be moved about. I have tickets for the first and last shows in London but am hoping that as things move through USA the setlist will be sufficiently different when it comes to Europe. Not holding out too much hope though!
  14. If I lived in Ireland I'd be a little anxious that details for concerts haven't yet been released. BUT.... This is Dublin the bands home town. They are hardly going to offer a 2nd rate show for their home town fans. I would bet anything that they are trying to make these shows the best ever and are a little stuck with practical issues.
  15. Here you go.. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/u2/2015/pacific-coliseum-vancouver-bc-canada-7bc802f8.html
  16. They did a dress rehearsal and the songs are on Setlist.com.
  17. With all those songs we could be in for an all nighter!!!!
  18. Good Question ! Were those unique requests or did the repeats count too ?You don't like Acrobat? The rules forbid reposting the same requests multiple times, & said these requests wouldn't be counted. But you could retweet other people's requests, which would be counted. I retweeted other people's requests for Acrobat, but I also retweeted plenty of other songs too.To me, Acrobat has always seemed to be the number 1 request for rare/never played songs on fan forums. @u2 forum has a thread about it now, here, http://forum.atu2.com/index.php/topic,26532.0.html. You could only vote once, so all individual users, no repeats. Acrobat scored nearly a third of the total vote, 3 times more than it's closest rival (Mofo). Note, it is only a small sample size (116 votes so far), & a limited choice of songs. But it certainly portrays the wish of a large proportion of fans to hear Acrobat. It's an ok song. Not one I imagined would come top by so many votes!
  19. I wonder if Acrobat really is #1? Surely this was a result of a few posting the same request loads of times??
  20. Got tickets for night 6 quite easily as well. Am really pleased as will be there on the 1st and last night in London.
