  1. How did they arrive, by email?
  2. At this point names are just popping into my head and I'm thinking "Oh God no!" One other band I don't want to see is Snow Patrol. Bland, derivative and uninteresting.
  3. Ahh, I'm loving this photo! Where was it taken?
  4. I'm not one of the people who' travel overseas to see U2, but I would actually considering doing so if Biffy were the opener! Their Sunday night headliner at Reading Festival 2013 remains to this day the best gig of my life. Their live shows are so intense, you can see how much energy, effort and physical exertion goes into their performances every time they're onstage. They already sort-of supported U2 at Glastonbury - they were on the Pyramid Stage before U2 and Morrissey.
  5. But then how would it look for an older 'legendary' status band to not be supporting new, exciting music? (yes, it does exist)
  6. Bombay Bicycle Club won't want to be U2's support act, not considering what they've been saying about the iTunes release...
  7. I've seen Editors 4 times, they are one of the best live acts I've ever seen and to have them supporting U2 in a stadium setting would go so well.
  8. I saw Tame Impala at Reading and they were dynamite. Kevin Parker really sold it even though he was ill that day. In other bands I'd rather not see: U2, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER are you to book The Lumineers or Cold Cave.
  9. I'm all for The O2 gigs being filmed, since I'm attending the first one!
  10. I skipped out my weekly music theory lesson at college and nabbed myself a GA ticket for the 25th. I'm in!
  11. Oh my God yes! Having seen Babymetal myself (at Sonisphere back in July) I think it would be absolutely hilarious for them to support U2.
  12. Yeah, I think Muse and The Killers are headliners in their own right now. Maybe The Hives could do a few shows with U2, they know how to work an audience, and if nothing else, they'd be very entertaining.
  13. Since the London gigs now have their own sub-forum, I thought it'd be a good idea to start this thread for people going on the first night. I'm up for meeting up with some fellow Zootops for a pint or a coffee...
  14. The National played the last show of their tour last week, so they're unlikely. Given that Edge is a Royal Blood fan I wouldn't be surprised if they popped up. Perhaps The Joy Formidable, HAIM, Band of Skulls...there's a whole list of really good young bands out there right now, U2 should be looking at it. Royal Blood is opening up for the Foo Fighters (a much better fit, IMO). The Joy Formidable would be awesome: Ritzy is a fireball on stage and I think their songs would really come across well in a larger setting. I'm actually seeing Royal Blood open for Foo Fighters at Wembley in June, looking forward to that. I've caught bits of The Joy Formidable's sets twice (at Reading Festival 2012 and supporting Bloc Party at Earl's Court in 2013) but I've never caught a whole set of theirs. Need to do that.
  15. I'll second that! Our Mods are taking some seriously undeserved flack right now I'm delighted with my pre-sale experience & think the open letter to bigwave is right out of order Amen.
  16. To be honest, I'm not too keen on a big name support act, I'd rather have a band who are young, relatively unknown, hungry and who could get a real boost from a U2 support slot.

  18. Got my confirmation email too, there's a bar right next to the doors into the arena, definitely up for meeting some fellow Zootops for a drink!
  19. Seriously. The mods are absolutely amazing. Baja, Bigwave, Max, you guys deserve medals.
  20. I would guess Songs of Innocence songs the first night and Songs of Experience songs the second. The title of the tour suggests that they expect to have Songs of Experience out by then. I think they'll play songs from both albums on both nights, but night 1 will have more songs from Innocence and night 2 will have more songs from Experience.
  21. I thought of Vertigo as well!
