  1. I certainly hope so; but, even if so, the issue here is changes from the 1st to 2nd shows in the "pairs". U2 always makes various changes as their tours evolve over time (which is great), but again, the issue here is within the "pairs".
  2. Yep, should have been more changes (at least 8 different songs--better more like 10-12). They did say recently that the shows wouldn't be completely different (and, if you read carefully their earlier comments last winter, they didn't specifically say the shows would be completely different, but certainly suggested they'd differ quite substantially), but given their earlier comments, the shows really should be more different than they are. Not to mention that, with no opening act and an intermission (which could easily be longer), the show should be longer than it is--that's what other major acts do when there's no opener. As it stands, it's only 2-3 songs longer (c. 24) than their standard length (c. 22 songs).
  3. Lots of helpful info for San Jose GAers--thanks, Bigwave. Especially notable is the "show up and get a numbered wristband, and then you can leave and come back later" policy, which is unusual. It'd be great if all venues provided GA info this detailed; I'm not holding my breath!
  4. Recent info on the tour included the interesting nugget that supposedly the sound system is very different, with many smaller speakers spread throughout the arena--as opposed to the usual setup (only around the main stage). The idea is to provide better sound throughout the arena. So, Vancouver folks, what did you think? Better? Worse? Same? (Quality-wise).
  5. Absolutely. At least t-shirt-wise, this merch for this tour is (so far) clearly the worst ever, by far. Uninspired, to be charitable. Also, while presumably this will be sorted out, it's at least mildly annoying that some of the merch options that were briefly posted (mainly the glasses and one keychain) have mysteriously disappeared. Hopefully they'll be back.
  6. Thanks, ddarroch--excellent info. Were you at the Vancouver show(s)? Either way, what shows are you attending?
  7. You seem to be referring to a fictitious entity...?
  8. Hi Vancouver GAers--so how did CCE work? Did the venue people really look at IDs? Or just glace at a credit card, or what? This is really important for people to know--especially those who want to somehow let others use their tickets, etc.
  9. Very likely what they cost everywhere else--around $350 American.
  10. There's a super-good question! Please help, Vancouver GAers!
  11. Yes, the main stage, not the e-stage. This is completely clear now; multiple sources, photos, etc. The RZs form outward "L"-shapes, with flanks that run along the outer sides of GA, and a "bend" that directly abuts the sides of the main stage. Regular GA still has most of the main stage rail, though.
  12. Yeah, apparently if you're directly behind either stage, your view of the screens is limited. Unless...there are some "supplemental" screens on each end (?).
  13. Why do you say this? Can you elaborate? Oh, and by the way, on the 360 tour RZ folks could go into regular GA if they wanted to. Let us know if that works out for you; would be good to know. Perhaps what you're saying is that only that one portion of the RZ is up against the main stage, and that that's "very small"? That is, that most RZ folks end up in the "L" part along the sides?
  14. Actually, that video appears to be shot from the seats on the other side from the band--it's just zoomed in for most of it.
  15. Bigwave, this is a long thread. Maybe start a different one for Vancouver 2?
  16. Thanks, that's super-helpful. Looks fairly standard--just 3-4 tunes at the smaller ("e") stage.
  17. How did they distribute their time? Usually, bands play maybe 3-5 songs on the b-stage, the rest on the main stage. How many songs did U2 do on the b ("e") stage? And how many on the catwalk itself? And of course the main stage?
  18. On the website the shirts are $40 US--for pounds, check the europe part of the website shop.
  19. Wow, really? RZ1 = Adam, RZ2 = Edge? Opposite of 360 tour. Also, 1) How many people on each side? And how far in from the side does the RZ go on the front rail? (Looks like maybe the outer 1/3 of the front rail). And finally, how much time did they spend at the main stage, the e-stage, and in-between (on the catwalk?)
  20. Good question. Almost certainly not (I bet just 3-4 songs on the e-stage), but I haven't seen an actual breakdown on this yet. Anyone?
  21. No offense, but read Joe's guide (at the beginning of this thread). RZ info is there.
  22. People like this should be thrown out, period. Did anyone tell security about this guy? Did they take any action?
  23. Sure, they make more $$ w/no opening act--part of why they should do a longer show than before. Also, I disagree with you--my sense is that the set list length stays pretty constant (w/minor variations) throughout entire tours, including later legs. Check it out for yourself at u2start.com, tour section. Indeed, they've been playing 22-23 song shows for years/decades (with very occasional exceptions, like in Dublin or the last show of a leg or whatever). So, unfortunately, we're probably stuck with the current length.
  24. In the 360 tour, RZ1 was Edge's side. So likely it still is. Can Vancouver RZers confirm?
