Holy balls, that sux! I will be travelling the two weeks before the show abroad.

It wasn't credit card scanners, but QR codes on mobiles. Since they were scanning codes at the I+E shows I was at outside the venue and it was sunny outside, the scanner couldn't read the code. So me and a lot of others could get in without being marked as "in". So I had my sister and a friend re-use my mobile QR code and get in for free. First U2 show and for free. Woo hoO!

If you buy a subscription now, you should be able to get tickets for London 2 Wire pre-sale this Thursday. I had a guy I know purchase subscription Friday few hours before all pre-sales closed for Barcelona. He got the tickets he wanted with no hassle :-)

Well, it's already 1 day between Amsterdam and Brussels. So if 2nd show is added, it'll definitely be Aug 2nd. It can't imagine U2 playing 4 shows back to back with no pause in 2 different cities, even if they're relatively close.

I'm in too! But I got my tix at presale. If 2nd show is added I'll have to do general sale :/

I assume that soon after the shows is marked as sold out here on U2.com, we'll get an extra date added. Unless it shows bad compared to other U2 shows... but seeing how I cannot select a single ticket on TM.be site, I'm sure that's not the case.

I'm also sure that not all tickets are made available right away. Like, for I+E I was able to get 4 GA tickets for a show like an hour after the tickets went on sale.... some 45 minutes after it was marked as "sold out" here on U2.com. Just kept refreshing and refreshing until I had my 4 required tickets.

Am I the only one who had a stress free sale / pre-sale.... with the worst being THAT IMPOSSIBLE CAPTCHA WHERE YOU HAVE TO SELECT STOREFRONT OR STREET SIGNS? I swear, I had to go thru like 4 sets of street front pictures before I could buy my tickets.

Extra shows in other sold-out cities too: London, Paris, Amsterdam. Woop woop!

GoPro is small enough not to cause issues with security. Small cameras are okay with U2 (from my experience) and usually other bands. U2 are also okay with folks filming their shows, so GoPro in and of itself is not an issue. However... as others have mentioned, be in the moment! The video will record the sound. It will record light. But it won't record feelings. There are plenty of other people filming the show, so you don't have to do it! Is the time spent caring about the camera, battery, positioning worth the time lost enjoying the show? Is it worth for a crappy sounding, very shaky video? I admin, in my I+E shows I took a about two dozen pics with my phone and that was enough. Most of them were pics taking during intermission or before/after the show. There are quite enough official pictures/videos and/or pictures/videos from other people to satisfy my need.

Ha! I had €3.19 total transaction fee for two tickets. Woo hoO!

Honestly, I'm dived on the whole e-ticket / paperless entry. With paperless or self-print tickets I don't have to worry about losing my tickets. Unless I lose my printed ticket or the CC right before my show, I can either re-print the ticket or contact customer support about resolving lost credit card issue. If I lose my physical ticket, that's it, I'm done - no more show for me. On the other hand, having a real physical with the band name and tour logo is amazing. A piece of memorabilia you can frame and save :-) At the same time, it sucks if the ticket looks like every other tickets from the same ticket vendor / venue. For example, my local ticket vendor... all their tickets, regardless whether you go to hockey, music show, theater, opera look exactly the same. There isn't even a teeny tiny band logo on it

I got my Dublin e-tickets immediately this morning. I got my Brussels immediately too... worried about London :/

Has anyone got the tickets sent to them already? I have the order confirmation but not the actual tickets yet. They do they that it's may take a few days before they're sent... but this is e-tickets we're talking about. Every single time I've purchased e-tickets, I've had them within minutes in my Inbox. :/

Check the tour dates. Most shows are 3 to 4 days apart. I don't expect more than 2 shows at Dublin, giving them one free day before Paris. Unless they add a date before the announced date yet. And I don't see the boys playing three nights in row.

Then don't buy, plain and simple.

From an e-mail that U2.com sent a few hours ago with the pre-sale code: Take care of this email and don't let anyone access this code who might use it against your wishes. It is for your personal use only and cannot be transferred/used by anyone else. All ticketing code use is audited and anyone found to be abusing presale privileges risks cancellation of ticket purchases and U2.com subscription. Please be aware that some ticketing will be paperless – details on the ticketing site.

They can't play a venue that's been book by someone else or unavailable for other reasons. They also might not be able to move their equipment around fast enough to reach venues that maybe are free. They might be the biggest band of the world with the biggest grossing tours, but money can't pay for everything.

From the sites I checked, none of them had more than 1 GA option. Maybe the divider is there simply for crowd control? Meaning, Pitch 1 reaches certain capacity, it's closed down? I remember there was something similar in Frankfurt back in 2010 - they had a divider across the GA. Besides, with the exception of RedZone (which is really small, quite frankly), U2 aren't known for dividing GA into sections with tiered pricing. Unlike other bands who have no problems charging extra from their fans for GA section closer to the stage.

If my memory serves me right from U2360 tour, there were new codes granted with a new subscription, and you could also use old ones if you had them unused.

What does 2012 have to do here? In 2009 when 360 tour was announced there were exactly the same rules... All members who were active at a certain cut-off date were in the first pre-sale group. Then 2nd group was members who had paid for subscription after the cut-off date. And then there were even newer members, who had joined days prior to pre-sale start. The same for SOI in 2014 - everyone with active subscription prior to the album launch was in first pre-sale group, everyone who joined after the announcement was in the 2nd group. It's simple - don't let the subscription lapse. And if you did - either get lucky and subscribe again before their cut-off date, or join the pre-sale a day later.

Let's compare this tour's European leg with 360's first European leg. Just playlist, just dry numbers. Number of shows: I+E: 40 shows played 360: 24 shows played Number of different songs played during these shows: I+E: 44 different songs played 360: 35 different songs played Number of albums represented: I+E: Songs from 15 U2 albums played 360: Songs from 12 U2 albums played Number of snippets: I+E: 67 different snippets played 360: 57 different snippets played Opening songs: I+E: The Miracle (of Joey Ramone), opened all shows 360: Breathe, opened all shows Closing songs: I+E: One, 40, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, People have the Power 360: Moment of Surrender, closed all shows Average Song Count per Show I+E: 25,38 (shortest 23 songs, longest 27 songs) 360: 22,83 (shortest 22 songs, longest 24 songs) Conclusion? Comparing first European leg of I+E and 360 tours we can see that I+E gets all the prizes except one (opening song.. that's a tie)... On average each show had more songs played, and playlist (both full songs and snippets) was more diverse. Also, unlike 360, I+E had diversity in the closing song.
